On Wednesday 12th June, Cummins lead a workshop, for Year 6 pupils, on plastic pollution. It was a great morning where pupils learnt about how much plastic is thrown away, and the impact it is having on the environment. According to environmentalists, there is a mass of floating plastic in the seas, near Hawaii, which is bigger than Spain, France or Germany.
Pupils looked at sorting everyday items into whether they could be recycled or not, and were left the task of completing a collage using recycled materials. The theme was under the sea and everyone seemed to enjoy making their own creatures. The collage is going to go on display at the Cummins site in Darlington.
