Statement of Intent

Key information since last update + impact:

I have finished working with the TRG but am still in touch with the members and keeping abreast of any changes/developments. I am attending a course at Hartside in October about developing Reasoning throughout a unit of work and will be feeding this back to staff at a staff meeting.

Monitoring and assessment of Maths via ‘Book Looks’ and analysing data continues.

Power Maths has been purchased which is an online resource but teachers have found difficulty logging on so it is not fully up and running at present. Power Maths also has resources for teaching Mastery to EYFS.

Assessment procedures + impact:

Teachers are now analysing their termly White Rose Assessments in order to note any gaps before they move on. Children have been identified from last terms data for Maths interventions and children who need work on basic number will be accessing fundamental maths. Year 2 upwards are accessing Times Tables Rockstars and Year 4 are accessing this in regular short bursts throughout the week in preparation for the Times Table Test in June.

Monitoring information + impact:

Since the last report monitoring has continued. ‘Book Looks’ are continuing each half term and there is also a Maths learning walk planned.

The target for Year 6 was achieved at 79% which is a big improvement and the aspiration for the coming Year 6 is 70%.
