The Pupil Governors are a very important part of our school.
Its’ members consist of two pupils from every Family Group and represent the thoughts and ideas of all the pupils in the school.
Our main role is to give every child an opportunity to have a say in the school’s decisions.
As children ourselves, we have a good idea of what children would like to happen in our school.
Each Pupil Governor is appointed by their own family group members. To be considered as a governor, we nominate ourselves in the Summer term and then plan and present a campaign speech. Everyone is eligible to put themselves forward, as we show and follow democracy and fairness. Towards the end of the term, each pupil in the school vote for their chosen candidate, who will take up the role in the next school year.
What do we do?
Throughout the year, the Pupil Governors, organise a range of events within school to raise money, and awareness. These include:
- Food Bank
- CAFOD
- Macmillan Cancer Research
- Poppy Appeal
- Children in Need
- Save the Children
- St Cuthbert’s House 5p Bus
Within family groups Pupil Governors lead meetings to discuss how we can improve our school, any issues that pupils would like to raise and make important decisions on a range of subjects.
