This morning we visited caves which were occupied by many hundreds of families during World War 1, and by the Germans in World War 2. These caves were 33 meters below ground and contained many chapels and statues.
Afterwards we enjoyed our packed lunches outside in the sun.
The afternoon was a visit to the local supermarket to buy food for our french picnic. Each pair had €10 to buy something from their chosen category. It took lots of maths skills to make sure we stuck to the budget. Some needed to borrow more! After that we walked to the Musee Somme where we learnt about life in the trenches. It was very informative.
