On Monday 25th June, pupils from Year 6, visited the factory site at Cummins in Darlington. We were invited to see how engines are made and to learn more about the ways in which we can reduce, reuse and recycle, in order to help the environment. We also met Brian, who works as part of the environmental team for Cummins, globally. He had travelled from America to visit the site, and wanted to come and see the work we were doing.

As part of the day, pupils were asked to think of a new name for the new classroom. After much discussion, members of the Cummins team chose a name. This will be unveiled at the official opening of the new outdoor classroom.
We would like to thank everyone at Cummins for making us feel welcomed and showing us round. The drinks, biscuits and chocolate bars were very nice too!
